roommates and ropes
Last night the other 3 people came. One of which is living in the trailor with the other five of us. she’s pretty cool. We stayed up last night awaiting her arival… we were so ready to go to bed, but, we couldn’t till she came. THEN… we ended up just staying up for a while longer.
Good news: hot water!!!!
We found out who was on the ropes crew today… Yay! i’m excited. Much idfferent stuff from GLM. and a much different way of doing things. But, it’s ocol. I think i’m going to like it alot. we had training all day today, and all day yesterday. It was exhausting!!! and! i didn’t wear sun block at all (well, i put some on at like 3 today). so, of course i got burnt twice. but, it’s ok. not too bad.
the classes are pretty fun here. We’re not teaching any yet… just like going through them to experience them as the kids do. the other day, we did critter collection. We collected a bug in a jar, then looked t up in a manual, and drew pictures of it, and wote facts. anothe class we did was on “green machine”. about composting. what can go in a compost pile, what can’t. How to do one, reduce/ reuse/ recycle, etc. then, the other one we did was nature journaling. we found somehting in the woods and described it… like you had no idea what it is (kinda hard to describe a stick as if you had no idea what it was, but, i did a cactus), then, we made up a story about it. like, why the grass is green or why does a cactus have thorns. Etc. i really enjoyed it.
appearently, they have retreats here on the wkends. And we are required to work two of those wkends. And then we can work other wkends if we so desire, and we get paid $10/ hour. Pretty sweet. I’ll be doing that i think!
hve you gotten to watch any of the olympics? I’ve seen some of the swimming and gymnastics. Tha’t;s about it. I really wanted to see the tae kwon do. But, i have no idea when that was! oh well.
So, i’m beginning to figure out who annoy me, and who i am ok with. It’s pretty bad, i’m really particular about people. but, there’s just those people who – like when doing team building stuff – just take over and go at it, cuz they know how to do everything… and no one else knows, or gets heard if they have ideas. so annoying. but, i’m not much of a groups person… like, i like working with someone else… but, many people trying to do one task… not me. but, oh well… such is life. can’t really have everything my way i suppose, huh?
so, we moved out to a trailor on sunday. I like it… i think it’s the better of the two locations for living arangements (even though it is like a 7 min walk from there to the part of camp we do everything at – but that’s ok, makes me get up a bit earlier and not just roll out of bed). the trailor is a double wide. there’s a full kitche. and a pretty big living room area. one room with a walkin closet. a shower. jacuzzi type tub and two sinks. 2 pepole share that room. My room, there’s, if you walk in the door way, in front of you is a closet (way too much storage space), then, on the right side is y room, and on the left side is the other person’s room, then in the middle is our bathroom (with a door going to either room). then, we have 2 individual rooms, and other bathroom that they share (not connected to the rooms at all). other than not having hot water for 3 days, it’s great. Showering was a pain. i would like stand in the back of the shower and lean back to wash my hair, then splash water on my self, soap up, and splash water to rinse.. defenitly one of those i wanna get in and out type showers.
ok, well, i have some reading to do for tomorrow, and we have night sensory games in a half hour, and i am poooooped. so, i wanna getsome reading done so i can conk out afterwards.
